The Effect of Emotional Labor and Sleep Disorder on Turnover Intention of University Hospital Employees

Abstract
Objectives: To provide basic data for efficient management of medical institution employees by identifying factors related to emotional labor, turnover intention and sleep disorder of hospital employees.

Methods: From March 10 to June 13, 2018, 141 questionnaires were finally analyzed for university hospital employees working in ¡®I¡¯ area. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, pearson¡¯s correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 program.

Results: The level of emotional labor was higher for nurses than for medical technicians and administrative staff (p<0.05). The turnover intention of women was higher than that of men, and the general group showed higher turnover intention than that of team leader (p<0.05). Emotional labor, turnover intention, and sleep disorder showed positive correlation and statistically significant (p<0.05). General characteristics, emotional labor, and sleep disorder explained 29.7% of turnover intention.

Conclusions: In order to lower the turnover intention, it is necessary to establish a more systematic system at the organizational level, and it is necessary to expand the subjects and continue repeated research.
